Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team, supporting students with a wide range of needs including profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties, and specific medical needs. Each student's learning programme is uniquely tailored to empower them to achieve their aspirations and goals while developing skills to become more independent within their community.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Engage with students during lessons and break times, promoting their independence and communication as directed by the class Lecturer.
- Support students in accessing a range of home, community, work-related, and basic skills learning programmes.
- Ensure students' health and wellbeing are maintained by closely following their educational, personal care, and therapy programmes.
- Assist in building self-confidence and independence in students through encouragement and reassurance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working, caring, or volunteering with people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
- Must hold a Level 1 qualification in Maths and a Level 2 qualification in English.
