About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Air & Ocean Freight Supervisor to join our operations team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a freight forwarding professional looking to step into a leadership role within a growing and dynamic logistics business.

You will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the air and ocean import/export team, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest standards of customer service. Key Responsibilities

* Supervise the daily operations of Air and Ocean Import & Export shipments.

* Support and guide the operations team to ensure shipments are processed efficiently and accurately.

* Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth movement of freight.

* Ensure all shipments comply with customs regulations, documentation requirements, and industry standards.

* Manage shipment documentation including HAWB/MAWB, Bills of Lading, customs entries, and commercial paperwork.

* Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve operational issues.

* Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.

* Assist with team training, development, and performance management.

* Ensure KPIs and service levels are consistently achieved.

* Support management with operational reporting and process improvements.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in freight forwarding operations, ideally covering both air and ocean imports/exports.

* Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

* Strong understanding of customs procedures and freight documentation.

* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.

* Strong communication and customer service skills.

* Experience using freight forwarding systems or logistics software.
