Contract: Locum 3 month contract

Main Duties of the SEN Assessment & Review Coordinator:

Serve as the primary contact for families and professionals throughout the EHC needs assessment process, ensuring compliance with the legal framework.
Work directly with senior staff at designated schools, colleges, and training providers to ensure the local authority meets all legal requirements of the Children and Families Act 2014.
Implement and coordinate the needs assessment and review process in compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice 2015.
Provide support and challenge to schools, colleges, training providers, professionals, and families regarding the Children and Families Act 2014 to prevent or reduce legal challenges against the local authority.
Manage a complex caseload to ensure the local authority can respond to the evolving needs of SEND children and young people.
Represent the local authority at formal mediation meetings in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice, mitigating legal and reputational risks by making decisions related to issuing EHC Plans and the associated financial provisions.
 Requirements of the SEN Assessment & Review Officer:

At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
Proof of eligibility to work and reside in the UK, a current DBS check, and two references.
