Role Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Business Development Manager to lead and inspire a telesales team of around 10–12 executives. Based in Stockton-on-Tees, you’ll be responsible for recruiting, motivating, and developing your team while also contributing directly to sales activity. This is an office-based role for someone who leads by example, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and thrives under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruit, manage, and develop a telesales team, ensuring consistent performance and growth
• Monitor individual and team performance, setting and achieving weekly/monthly sales targets
• Lead by example, actively engaging with prospects, demonstrating a hands-on, motivating approach
• Compile and present regular reports to senior management, driving informed business decisions
• Provide coaching and training, developing team capability and confidence
• Support recruitment processes, ensuring the right talent is in place for success
Requirements:
• Proven management experience (3+ years) in a sales-focused environment
• Strong leadership skills, confident, motivational, and personable
• Excellent communication and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Insurance knowledge desirable but not essential
