Holcim specialise in high-quality asphalt surfacing works and they are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Surfacing Estimator to join their team for 12 months mat cover.

Role - Estimator

Pay - £450-£550 per day outside IR35

Location- Remote working with occasional travel to 1 of the offices and potentially client sites (based in the South)

Shift pattern- Mon-Fri 08:30-17:00

Duration- 12 months, could potentially be extended depending on workload

Start date - Jan

Responsibilities:

• Accurate pricing of all work for the Southern Region in line with regional & national contracting strategy
• Understanding and interpreting the commercial and technical requirements of each bid and making due allowance forall requirements that may place the company at risk or provide commercial opportunities
• Attending bid launch meetings with submissions and operational staff where required
• Carry out customer / client visit to maintain and improve good working relationships
• Following up on all enquiries priced and updating estimate log as appropriate
• Negotiate contract conditions with clients at contract letting stage
• Maintain an up to date and working knowledge of all HSEQ requirements
• Communicating with internal and external contacts in a clear and efficient manner
• Collaborating data into IT systems

Experience needed:

• Previous surfacing experience is essential
• Ability to work to strict deadlines
• Organised and ability to manage & prioritise workloads
• Strong IT literacy skills with MS Office
• Familiarity with NEC form of Contracts
• Familiarity with estimating software (Causeway or similar)
• Confident telephone manner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Great attention to detail
• Knowledge of the industry
