Our client is one of the world's most iconic brands and they are seeking a part-time Centre Support Assistant / Showroom Host for their prestigious Reading car dealership.

The Role
As a Centre Support Assistant / Showroom Host you will provide a warm welcome to all customers and visitors to the Centre, build rapport with guests and establish their needs quickly and efficiently to maximise their experience. You will act as a Brand Ambassador, reflecting the brand image and standards at all times.

Core Responsibilities as Centre Support Assistant / Showroom Host:

  • Handle customer queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Distribute enquiries, calls and messages in an accurate, timely and appropriate manner
  • Obtain all necessary customer information and fully maintain accurate customer enquiry records and customer data
  • Ensure customer needs are looked after, including offering refreshments and being confident to converse with the customer
  • Promote and sell products and services, including showroom transactions of ordering and taking payments
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service at all times, ensuring that all actions are in accordance with company standards and guidelines
  • Support the Centre Support Manager to ensure Audit is ready
  • Pro-actively approach customers to discuss product information, offer help/advice and demonstrate vehicle options
  • Provide customers with specification information on all available products and services
  • Develop a good knowledge and understanding of all competitive products and dealerships in order to provide better insight to customers
  • Keep technical knowledge up to date to understand the customer needs and requirements
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications
  • Assist with showroom preparation including vehicles, merchandise and displays
  • Actively demonstrate and sell selection and t-equipment
  • Provide admin support to the Aftersales department in creation of the CDK and PIWIS job cards and other duties as required
  • Provide admin support to the sales department as required
  • Proactively ensure the showroom, entrance and customer lounge areas are kept clean and tidy 
  • Support and attend any Centre marketing activities and events both in Centre and off site
  • Maintain adequate supplies of Guest hospitality stock and dealership stationery at all times
  • Process incoming and outgoing post, ensuring it is appropriately date stamped/franked
  • Keep updated with FCA Compliance requirements of the business, working within the Insurance Code of Business guidelines
  • Keep updated with Retail Internal Control System (RICS) requirements, following company processes / procedures and completing supporting documentation correctly

The Person
In the role of Centre Support Assistant / Showroom Host you will have or be:

  • Experience within a customer facing role where answering the telephones was part of the daily duties
  • Excellent customer service skills - essential
  • The confidence to approach customers entering the showroom and attend to their needs
  • A willingness to offer and provide refreshments
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Extremely well presented
  • Good attention to detail 

Hours & Rewards
The position of Centre Support Assistant / Showroom Host is a part time role and you will work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8.30am to 6pm. There is on offer:

  • An excellent rate of pay, plus bonus
  • 20 days holiday per year (pro-rata) plus bank holiday compensation
