We are looking for a Manufacturing/Production Manager on a permanent basis in the Poole area within the CNC machining / fabrication manufacturing industry. Your main duties will include planning and organisation of production schedules as well as participating in continuous improvement projects alongside managing and coaching the production / manufacturing team. This would be well suited for a Manufacturing, Workshop or Production Supervisor looking to step up.

The Production / Manufacturing Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Qualified in a relevant Engineering / Manufacturing Degree or time served as a manager.
  • Previous experience working as a Production / Manufacturing Manager or similar Supervisor / Management role within CNC machining, fabrication, or similar manufacturing businesses.
  • Basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing methods.
  • Can communicate with other members of staff and other members of management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing best practices.
  • Capable of being hands on within the team.
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as team.
  • Experience in CNC Machining - beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of business improvement methodologies
  • MRP/ERP experience
  • Have high levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation as a role model.

The Production / Manufacturing Manager role will involve:

  • Head up the manufacturing team across the site.
  • Leading daily- problem solving as required across various teams, including fabrication and production, and planning.
  • Project Manage new manufacturing projects coming into the workshop.
  • Carrying out continuous improvement activities.
  • Managing day to day activities of the production team.
  • Coaching the Production team on increasing efficiency.
  • Assuring health and safety obligations are met.
