This is a newly created role within a central finance team in Milton Keynes, reporting to the Financial Controller. You’ll be part of a friendly, established group who provide high-quality support across the firm, with the chance to influence processes, suggest improvements and help shape the future of the finance function.

The Opportunity

You’ll take on a varied remit spanning financial and management reporting, control improvements, and ad hoc projects. From reconciliations and month-end reporting through to VAT returns and intercompany work, this role gives plenty of exposure while still offering space to build on your expertise and develop new skills.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Month-end reporting: journals, reconciliations, and closing of ledgers
• Preparing VAT returns and reviewing BACS payment runs
• Handling intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
• Maintaining the fixed asset ledger and preparing Companies House filings
• Preparing management accounts and supporting Group consolidation
• Working with auditors on year-end schedules
• Assisting with budgets, staff loans, and insurance queries
• Supporting system processes (CCH, SAP Concur, TMC)
• Creating process notes and suggesting efficiency improvements
• Providing cover for other team members when needed

What we’re looking for:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
• Strong background in financial accounting and reporting
• Confident with Excel and accounting systems (SAP desirable but not essential)
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset — keen to spot and implement improvements
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines across multiple tasks
• Strong communicator who works well with colleagues at all levels
