Multi-skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

You'll be responsible for the production of stable bedding and other raw materials, such as the mushroom growing compost for our clients farms. Ensuring minimal downtime, carrying out both planned preventative and reactive Maintenance.

Producing compost raw materials, gypsum, chicken litter, horse bedding, straw and produce compost.

Sell to leading supermarkets through own farms and third-party sales.

You'll be supporting a team of three engineers, ensuring all 30 people on site are able to produce at maximum capacity.

Role requirements

* 2 engineers on each shift

* front loader conveyor system, motors gearboxes, fans,

* Hydraulics, sensors, components controlled by PLC Controls, 3 big lines

* Big equipment

* 9kw motors, up to 110

* 3 phase equipment

* pneumatics, hydraulics

* Dirty, smelly and noisy - like a manufacturing farm (not as bad as sewage but smells of ammonia compost)

* Mechanically biased - multi-skilled

* Ideal litter, poultry, sewage or farming background

* Circa 30 mins of site

* No breathing or lung conditions

Salary, Benefits and Shift Pattern

* 4 days a week Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri (6 a.m.- 5 p.m. 10.5 hour days). 42 hour week

* First 2 weeks Mon-Thurs then work 4 days straddling the weekend including Sat and Sun

* 2 days of the week on call with other engineers. £50 for first hour even if the call lasts a minute, then after that is overtime. Get time off in lieu next day if called out

* £46.5k circa

* Overtime 1.25 for anything over 41 hours a week

* 22 days holiday (expected to work BHs - our client try to give you Christmas day off or have a rota for Christmas Day etc, same for Boxing day)

* Holidays, pension and overtime to being re evaluated at a later date
