Bouygues Energies & Services is recruiting an Environment & Sustainability Manager in a regional role which will involve regular travel to sites and our offices in Didsbury, Manchester and London.

Bouygues is committed to playing a leadership role in the global net zero transition and we are looking for an Environment & Sustainability Manager to join our team, with a strong interest in carbon management.  The Environment & Sustainability Manager will integrate sustainability into the organisation and management of our large scale projects and will work directly with our key clients to understanding their energy performance and net zero needs.  The role will include the provision of advice, regularly client contact, adding value and embracing sustainability in everything we do.

The Role

Lead on carbon, sustainability and net zero for our business and clients.

Develop and drive the company's sustainability strategy, including the route to Net Zero Carbon.  

Develop innovate carbon, sustainability design and management approaches, methods and solutions.

Provide specialist guidance to the Board and senior leadership team in relation to all aspects of Sustainability, Environment & Carbon.

Carrying out environmental and energy audits and inspections on our sites and with priority suppliers.

Manage data collection, collation and analysis of Environmental & Sustainability data.

Keep up-to-date with the sustainability agenda, maintain skills, and knowledge including changes to legislation, industry requirements and best practice through membership of an appropriate professional body and continuous professional development.

Assist with environmental incident investigations as required ensuring learning from the event and all actions are completed and closed out minimising the risk of any similar accidents and incidents occurring in the future.

Proactively and as required, communicate with the business in written and verbal formats on Environmental and Sustainability matters; newsletters, alerts, bulletins, circulars, reports and online communications.

Design and deliver awareness, training and facilitate workshops to enable and ensure the teams have an acceptable level of competence.

To support and practice the Company's Quality Policy and Mission Statement and maintain our ISO 14001 certification.

When required, represent the company at external networks and continue to build their personal, team and company reputation.

To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.

The Person:

Essential Criteria

Possess a recognised environmental qualification.

Experience of implementation of environmental management systems within the construction/engineering environment.

Experience of working to ISO 14001.

Enthusiastic with a thorough knowledge across a variety of sustainability disciplines and a willingness to become involved in a broad selection of projects.

Possess strong interpersonal skills and experience working collaboratively with a range of technical specialists at different levels.

Have understanding of UK sustainability and environmental regulations, guidance and standards.

Hands-on experience of delivering complex projects within the built environment, building services or engineering, and development of low and zero carbon energy strategies. Good understanding of building services, their operation and applicability.

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability of build rapport and influence and negotiate at all levels.

The ability to work autonomously with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Highly computer literate.

Have a current driving licence.
