Birchwood & Co Case Management are looking to employ a caring and compassionate individual to provide support to a 12-year-old child with Cerebral Palsy in Derbyshire.
The focus of the support will be to provide support in everyday activities, for example, assisting client to wash and dress, promoting independence wherever possible, assisting client at mealtimes and maintaining their safety at night.
There will also be a call to assist our client in moving and handling tasks, for example, helping them to use a walking frame effectively and assisting them to use an electric wheelchair.
Part of this role will be to help our client attend school and therapy appointments. It is therefore essential that you have a full driving license as you will be required to drive for our client in their private vehicle.
The role offers a mixture of day and night shifts during both weekdays and weekends. The working pattern can be discussed to best fit both yourself, and the client.
We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills as the role calls for comprehensive and accurate record keeping.
Duties of Role
- Provide support to a client living in client’s own home.
- The focus of role will be to assist client to meet their daily needs while learning new skills to promote independence and reach therapy goals.
- Client is a wheelchair user. Manual handling training will be provided as part of mandatory training.

- It would be desirable, but not essential, for you to have experience with British Sign Language (BSL).
