Our South East London based, Local Authority Client is look for an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join their busy team.

Purpose of the role

The Building Control Surveyor will be required to implement and enforce the current Building Regulations and allied legislation, and to deliver Building Control services across the borough.

Key Duties Include:

The Building Control Surveyor will be responsible for:

* Examination of deposited plans to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations

* Inspection during progress of works to which the Building Regulations apply to ensure compliance

* Investigation and reporting of unauthorised or contravening works, preparing evidence and attending for Court hearings as necessary to ensure Enforcement of Building Regulations

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

* Previous experience as a Building Control Surveyor / Inspector, preferably within a Public Sector environment

* Have experience of undertaking building control inspections in a formal capacity, i.e. formal assessment of a building control application

* Have carried out restricted functions and or activities ideally on behalf of a local authority

* Preferably class 2 registered with the BSR, or class 1 pending class 2
