SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Contract: Full‑time, term‑time only
Start Date: September 2025

About Us

Tradewind is recruiting for a specialist provision supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), many with additional diagnoses such as ADHD or autism. Our goal is to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

We are seeking a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to:

Support individual pupils and small groups with their learning, social skills, and behaviour

Implement tailored strategies to help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive relationships

Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to deliver personalised support plans

Model patience, consistency and high expectations at all times

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs (school or youth work settings)

Ability to build positive, trusting relationships quickly

Strong communication skills with both pupils and adults

Resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new approaches (Team Teach training desirable but not essential)
