Prospero Teaching is seeking engaging, resilient, and understanding Tutors to work with young people who are at risk of permanent exclusion (PEX). These learners often face challenges in their education and personal development, and we're looking for individuals who can make a real difference.

📍 Location: Hedge End and nearby areas
⏰ Hours: 8-15 hours per week per student
💷 Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

As a Tutor, you will:

You will be supporting disengaged learners in:

Core subject catch-up (English and Maths)
Social development
Emotional regulation and strategies to support with emotional well beingTutoring sessions are typically delivered on a 1:1 basis, either in the student's home, a local community setting, or online, depending on the needs of the learner.

About you:

Experience working with young people, especially those with SEMH needs or at risk of exclusion
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
A compassionate and patient approach
Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable learnersIf you're passionate about making a difference and have the empathy, patience, and creativity to support young people in meaningful ways, we'd love to hear from you.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people

Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable

Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
