Are you passionate about helping children thrive in a positive and inclusive learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to support pupils across the classroom, including providing occasional one-to-one support, and is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and meaningful interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning and engagement.
  • Provide general classroom support across a range of subjects and activities.
  • Offer one-to-one assistance to pupils who may need extra help with focus, confidence, or understanding.
  • Contribute to lesson preparation and help create engaging classroom displays.
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with staff and families to support pupil wellbeing and progress.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Confidence in providing one-to-one support when needed.
  • SEN experience is desirable, particularly supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs.
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to classroom dynamics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow professionally.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is beneficial but not essential.
