Overview:
I'm working with a long-established, full-service firm based in the heart of London's West End, where they've been a cornerstone of the local legal community for over 40 years. The firm is now seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor (7+ PQE) to step into a key strategic role within their growing department.
This isn't just another fee-earner role - it's a senior position with real influence, visibility, and clear succession planning in place. You'll be working closely with the current Head of Department, with a view to stepping into a leadership position over the next 3-5 years. Partnership is firmly on the table for the right candidate.
The Role:
You'll take on an existing, high-quality caseload made up of HNW and ultra-HNW individuals, both UK-based and international. The work spans complex estate administration, succession planning, wills, trusts, probate, and cross-border matters - no volume churn here, just interesting, varied work for long-standing clients.
The successful hire will be expected to manage files independently, build trusted relationships, contribute commercially to the department's performance, and support junior colleagues where needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle a broad caseload of wills, probate, LPAs, trusts, estate planning, and estate administration
*
Advise on complex and high-value estates, including those with international elements
*
Liaise directly with HNW clients, intermediaries, and other departments within the firm
*
Contribute to business development and client retention through excellent service
*
Work alongside the Head of Department in planning for succession and departmental growth
*
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior fee-earners or support staff where required
*
Maintain compliance with all SRA and firm procedures
About You:
*
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), ideally with 7+ years' PQE in Private Client
*
STEP qualified (or close to qualification), although strong candidates without this will still be considered
*
Experienced in handling complex estates, tax-efficient planning, and international matters
*
Able to manage files with autonomy and confidence
*
A relationship-builder - commercially minded, personable, and professional
*
Ambitious and open to stepping into a future leadership or partnership role
*
Comfortable working within a hybrid structure (3 days in-office, 2 from home)
