Temporary HR Officer

We’re seeking an experienced HR Officer to join a busy, professional HR team based in Norwich City Centre. This temporary role offers the chance to make a real impact, providing high-quality HR support across a range of services while working closely with an HR Business Partner.

About the Role
As an HR Officer, you’ll play a key part in supporting the development and implementation of HR policies, systems and initiatives. You’ll provide legally compliant advice across the full employee lifecycle and contribute to wider HR and Learning service activities.
This is a varied and proactive role offering exposure to restructures, project work, and partnership working with managers at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle Support
- Provide advice and support across recruitment, onboarding, induction, training, performance management, absence management, ER issues, and exit arrangements.
- Work with managers to build their capability and confidence in applying good HR practice.
Employee Relations & Casework
- Manage a varied caseload with support from the HR Business Partner.
- Advise on disciplinary, grievance, attendance, probation and capability matters.
- Attend and support formal HR meetings as required, ensuring timely, high-quality advice.
Policies, Systems & HR Projects
- Support the ongoing restructure activity and provide direct assistance to the HR Business Partner.
- Contribute to HR project work as required.
- Design, develop and review HR policies, procedures and systems in line with best practice and legal compliance.
- Maintain HR guidance materials and ensure managers and employees have access to accurate information and FAQs.
- Encourage and support self-service through HR systems and resources.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
- Proven experience in HR, including ER casework management
- Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures and employment law
- Confidence in supporting managers through formal processes
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
