About the Company:

Meadfleet own and manage public open space on new build housing developments throughout England and Wales. With an ever-increasing portfolio of more than 300 developments in our management, we are the professional and sustainable alternative to local authority adoption.

Due to sustained business growth and continued trading throughout COVID-19 we are looking for a Finance Manager reporting directly to the Finance Director who can join our Head Office team in Stevenage. We are a small team but highly motivated to deliver.

About the Finance Manager Role:

You will provide support to the Finance Director in day-to-day financial reporting matters, including debtors and cash and assist in the production of comprehensive monthly Management Accounts. You should be able to communicate effectively throughout the business from administration staff to shareholders.

You will be responsible for ensuring with the Finance Director' guidance the smooth running of accounts receivable with a 30,000 strong customer base with bi-annual invoice run as well as accounts payable responsible for reviewing and processing £2m of sub-contractor invoices every year.

You will be able to identify, correct, and educate on bookkeeping errors and monthly journals and to help staff members with financial based queries. You will also be expected to support and grow our Accounts Assistant who is in the process of finishing AAT. The successful candidate will not shy away from supporting their fellow staff members to ensure key targets are met.

Finance Manager Requirements:

  • Experience in an SME environment, ideally in a volume environment or first step from practise
  • Experience in SAGE 200 is ideal, but training will be provided
  • Fully qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA with at least 2 years post qualified experience
  • A desire and demonstrable capability of progressing to board level in the coming years
