Night Shift HGV Mechanic

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off - Nights
Pay: £20.00 per hour

Join a Growing Haulage Operation This business is entering an exciting phase of growth, with continued investment in its fleet, workshop, and engineering operation. To support this growth, a brand-new night shift is being introduced, creating an excellent opportunity to join from the start. We are now looking for an experienced Night Shift HGV Mechanic to help maintain a large, modern fleet of over 300 HGVs and plant. If you are looking for stability, proper time off, and well-organised night work, this role offers exactly that.

The Role
You will play a key role in keeping the fleet safe, compliant, and roadworthy during night operations. Working in a clean, well-equipped workshop, you will carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs with a focus on quality and safety.

Your Responsibilities
· Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGVs, trailers, and associated plant
· Mechanical fault-finding and repair work (electrical knowledge an advantage)
· Carrying out routine inspections and safety checks
· Diagnosing and rectifying defects to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy
· Completing job cards and maintenance paperwork accurately
· Handing work over clearly between shifts
· Maintaining high workshop, housekeeping, and health & safety standards

What We're Looking For
Essential:
· Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic, Fleet Technician, or Plant Fitter
· Strong hands-on mechanical experience
· NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or time-served equivalent)
· Comfortable working night shifts independently
· Reliable, professional approach with pride in your work
