OVERVIEW:

Working within the Projects team you will be responsible for project development from assessment of client requirements through to project completion for both internal and external PFT Wellstream customers. As Project Engineer you will be required to create, prepare and track closely a variety of project schedules as well as communicate effectively with suppliers, manufacturers and clients, oversee manufacturing processes and trial assemblies to ensure high quality and safe installations of new equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Front End Engineering - assessment of client's requirements, creation of solutions options, design briefs, functional descriptions, sourcing and preparation of budget book cost estimates, developing equipment layouts, PFDs, cost benefit analysis for options

* Scheduling - preparation and tracking of project schedules on both the macro (e.g. project overview) and micro (e.g. 24hr shutdown task breakdown) scale

* Report Preparation - collation / analysis of data gathered during research and development phases, drawing of conclusions and recommendations, and preparation of reports and other visual presentations

* Detail Design - initiate, develop and test innovative design solutions for challenging engineering requirements and preform technical analysis / calculations as necessary to ensure mechanical and structural integrity of final designs. Will involve use of strength of materials principles, practical considerations such as ease of fabrication and installation, compliance with codes and standards, and use of other engineering tools such as FEA packages. Liaison with Design team and end users in an interactive approach to ensure optimal final designs are produced. Carry out technical review of vendors' designs to ensure compatibility and design refinement.

* Procurement - preparation of tender specifications for equipment and services, commercial and technical tender evaluation including preparing responses to bidders' technical queries, recommendations for purchase, and purchase orders

Qualifications:

* HND /HNC in a related Engineering discipline or equivalent

* (Desirable) Tertiary education in an Engineering discipline

Experience:

* Relevant experience and knowledge within area of responsibility

* (Desirable) Experience within oilfield services or similar industry

Quality Assurance

* Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions. Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.

Training

* Participate in company training where required. Commit to role appropriate training focussing on continuing self-development.
