Interim Head of Commercial Finance | Media Business | London/Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with one of the most exciting, fast-growth businesses in the Media & Entertainment Industry, headquartered in Central London. With a modern, collaborative office space and a global reputation, this industry-leading organisation is now looking for an Interim Head of Commercial Finance to join the team on an initial 3-6 month contract.

The Role

This position is a key strategic role, acting as the primary financial business partner to senior leadership across the Commercial function. Reporting into the CFO, you'll oversee financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cost management.

You'll be managing and developing a team of 4, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the commercial team has the insights and analysis needed to make confident, data-led decisions.This is a hybrid role (2 days per week in the office) based in Central London.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted financial partner to executive stakeholders, providing strategic analysis and insight to influence decision making
• Lead the team in delivering accurate and timely budgets, forecasts, and management reporting
• Own the financial planning and analysis process for revenue flows and distributions, ensuring alignment with long-term business strategy
• Provide financial assurance presenting results and key insights to relevant boards and stakeholders
• Deliver analysis of performance trends, risks, and opportunities, translating findings into actionable recommendations
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and controls, in collaboration with wider Finance teams
• Manage and develop a team of 4
• Represent finance in key commercial negotiations and cross-functional projects

What We Need to See (Essential)

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting at a senior level
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in business partnering senior stakeholders
• Track record of managing and developing finance teams
• Advanced Excel and reporting tool skills
