Bank Secrecy Act Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer to serve as a source of expertise to expand TriState Capital's ’s capabilities, depth of knowledge, and responsiveness in the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) areas. The BSA Officer provides an additional degree of independence to the review of TriState’s customers, products and transactions Primary Job Responsibilities: Manage the strategic vision of the BSA department by proactively planning, developing, implementing and measuring steps to enhance TriState Capital’s BSA/AML/CFT compliance, including compliance with Section 314(a) of the US PATRIOT Act. Manage TriState Capital’s BSA program on a state of the industry basis, consistent with its branchless business model, including significant focus on commercial treasury management services, commercial payment processing, commercial lending and marketable securities-based lending. Timely respond to internal inquiries concerning the BSA Policy, applicable law or regulations, including customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence activities; review and as applicable grant exceptions to the requirements of the BSA Policy in general, and specifically the KYC/CIP requirements outlined in TriState Policy. Responsible for day-to-day review and approval (when applicable) of transactions for such customers, including the review of automated alerts generated by the FCRM system. Review alerts generated by the Bank’s transaction monitoring systems and help the company to respond accordingly with respect for expectations of affected parties. Perform routine duties conducted in connection with the Bank’s BSA/AML/CFT program, including the review and approval of any international transactions that by policy or procedure that require BSA Officer approval, and the review and approval, or referral of any OFAC positive matches that cannot be cleared as “false positives,”. Investigate any potential suspicious activity identified within TriState Capital's compliance systems. Identify emerging issues in the regulatory environment and financial risks that impact TriState’s BSA/AML/CFT compliance and develop new or modified procedures to mitigate the impact of such emerging risks. Maintain knowledge through attending various conferences and programs, participating in online training and webinars, and completing applicable training materials. Education and Experience Requirements: Undergraduate degree in business, law or equivalent required; Master’s or other advanced degree in business, law or equivalent a plus. CAMS certification, or willingness to obtain CAMS certification within six (6) months of hire. Minimum ten years BSA management experience. Prior bank treasury management, payment processing, loan or deposit operations experience preferred. Understanding of federal, state, and local banking regulations. Essential Skills and Abilities: Proficient knowledge of rules and regulations related to BSA. Advanced knowledge of BSA/AML/USA Patriot Act/OFAC/CIP regulatory requirements for financial institutions. Computer literate; basic proficiency in spreadsheet and database reporting applications; Microsoft Office Suite/internet navigation skills including proficiency with internet search engines. Basic knowledge of FiServ FCRM, WireExchange, CWS and/or Signature Desktop a plus. Strong oral, written and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to manage multiple on-going matters simultaneously and develop and oversee accountability. Strong analytical skills.
