NEC Supervisor - Highways & Infrastructure Projects

Are you an experienced NEC Supervisor with a strong background in highways or infrastructure projects? We're seeking a proactive and safety-focused professional to take on a vital supervisory role on a range of major improvement schemes. If you thrive in a dynamic site-based environment and have a passion for delivering quality civil engineering work, we want to hear from you.

Your Role:
As an NEC Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing site activities in accordance with the NEC suite of contracts. You'll ensure all construction work complies with CDM 2015 principles and industry standards, especially the Specification for Highway Works. Whether you're conducting inspections, managing safety briefings, or mentoring junior staff, you'll be a key player in the successful delivery of our projects.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Act as the NEC Supervisor on site, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

Undertake regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve construction challenges.

Ensure health & safety compliance, including attending toolbox talks and environmental inspections.

Carry out site inspections, approve works, and maintain detailed records and 'as-built' documentation.

Support the NEC Project Manager with technical expertise.

Collaborate closely with contractors, stakeholders, and design teams.

Potential full-time site presence depending on project needs.

Mentor junior staff and apprentices as required.

What You'll Bring:

Proven experience in highways/infrastructure projects, ideally as an NEC Supervisor.

Familiarity with NEC Contracts (Options A, C & E).

Solid understanding of the Specification for Highway Works and highways construction methods.

CDM 2015 awareness.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Excellent organisational, communication, and client liaison skills.

Commercial awareness and understanding of construction programming/sequencing.

Valid full UK driving licence (vehicle provided for business use).

Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.

Health and safety qualifications including Site Management Safety Training and Chapter 8/Traffic Management experience.

Desirable:

A recognised qualification in Civil or Highway Engineering.
Experience delivering toolbox talks to diverse site teams.
A positive, self-motivated attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
This role is a long term temporary contract offering £50-60 per hour PAYE and the opportunity to work on a huge highways project in Central Scotland.
