This is a rare opportunity to take on a high-impact, commercially focused Group Tax Manager role within a fast-growing, dynamic construction, property, and development group.
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the Group’s tax strategy, working at the heart of the business to influence decision-making, manage risk, and unlock value. With exposure to senior stakeholders, complex transactions, and evolving tax landscapes, this role offers both challenge and genuine career progression.
What You’ll Be Doing- Take ownership of the Group’s tax landscape, overseeing both direct and indirect taxes, with a strong focus on VAT and Employment Taxes managed in-house.
- Act as the go-to expert on VAT across construction and property projects—partnering with commercial and finance teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and commercially sound tax treatment.
- Lead on VAT compliance and reporting, ensuring everything runs smoothly while confidently managing HMRC interactions and queries.
- Drive best-in-class VAT processes in a post-Brexit and Domestic Reverse Charge environment.
- Collaborate closely with Payroll to ensure seamless PAYE and CIS compliance, while adding value through process improvements and insights.
- Use your expertise in IR35 and off-payroll working to guide the business and mitigate risk in a practical, solutions-focused way.
- Partner with advisors to manage Corporation Tax matters, including provisions and compliance, while maintaining strong audit readiness.
What We’re Looking For:- Strong, hands-on experience managing VAT and Employment Taxes in-house.
- Experience in construction or real estate is a plus—but not essential for the right candidate.
- Proven ability to operate in a complex environment and engage confidently with HMRC and senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, commercially minded self-starter who enjoys taking ownership and making an impact.
- Someone who challenges the status quo, drives improvement, and brings fresh thinking.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business.
Why Join?- High visibility role with real influence across the Group
- Exposure to complex, interesting tax challenges
