Role: General Groundwork

Pay: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour

Location: Swindon Based

Responsive Personnel are looking for General Groundworkers. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in groundworks and civil construction tasks, and the ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Concreting works, including preparation, pouring, and finishing.
• Shuttering and formwork for various structures.
• Pipe laying for shallow and deep excavations.
• Sheeting and framing operations (ticketed operators preferred).
• Mechanical installation of pipework and associated fittings.
• Operate plant and machinery safely, including:
• Excavators (up to and over 10 tons, ticket required)
• Dumpers (ticket required)
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Setting out and maintaining levels according to project requirements.
• Adhering to all site safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a groundworker in civil engineering or construction projects.
• Relevant tickets/certifications for sheeting, framing, excavator, and dumper operations.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of site safety procedures and hazard awareness.

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience in working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to mentor or guide junior operatives.
• Flexible and adaptable to different tasks as required by the project.
