Salary: £110 - £130 per day

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a Level 6 qualification to join our vibrant and nurturing primary school in Hertfordshire. This is a dynamic role that spans across EYFS and KS1, offering variety and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s early learning journey.

Your weekly timetable will include:

  • Morning sessions in Nursery: Supporting learning through play, early phonics, and social development activities.

  • Afternoon sessions in Reception: Assisting with focused group work, early literacy and numeracy, and preparing children for the transition to Key Stage 1.

  • One afternoon per week covering Year 2: Leading the class, following lesson plans, and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality support to children aged 3-7, aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) frameworks.

  • Take responsibility for planning and delivering specific learning activities when required.

  • Provide PPA cover and classroom leadership in Year 2 for one afternoon per week.

  • Support the class teacher in assessing pupil progress and adapting activities to meet individual needs.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all learners.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.

Requirements:
  • Level 6 HLTA qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience working across EYFS and KS1.

  • Confidence in leading whole class sessions, especially in Year 2.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A genuine passion for supporting young learners and helping them thrive.

Desirable:
  • Paediatric First Aid training.

  • Experience working in a school setting with children who have additional needs.
