A global organisation that is the industry leader in the manufacturing of industrial fabrics and composite materials is looking to recruit a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Based at the company's facility in Cambridgeshire you will play a vital role in the Research Technology function, working as part of the Manufacturing Innovation Team (MIT) to focus on developing novel technologies to ensure the company maintains a continued competitive advantage in industry.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities

* Lead a range of RT projects and programmes, specifically focused on the development of next generation manufacturing lines.

* To develop and advance the company's products, processes and technology by taking a leading role in RT projects.

* To initiate, justify and project manage both local and international projects, supporting others as necessary. To plan budgets with managerial support. Provide expert advice on capital investment / production systems.

* To take a leading role in innovation approaches. Identifying and recommending new technology which could include equipment processes or practices.

* To provide leadership to both RT and cross functional project teams.

* To support other departmental functions including 5S, Six Sigma and Health, Safety and Environmental.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Requirements

* To possess a degree level qualification in a relevant technical subject - ideally Materials Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or closely related field of study.

* Industrial experience within an industrial manufacturing facility - aerospace/automotive/materials is preferred.

* Comfortable creating new methods and making strategic judgements on technical direction.

* Proven track record of effective managing of budgets on research projects.

* Green Belt Six Sigma practitioner.

* Technical and personal leadership.

* Strong commitment to health and safety best practice.
