Reporting to the MDs, you will be responsible for:- Overseeing financial compliance and acting as the main contact for year-end and statutory accounts
- Reviewing management account packs (P&L, budgets, balance sheets, KPIs, utilisation rates, margin analysis)
- Managing month-end close and ensuring timely reporting to directors
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a finance team of two, including upskilling and handling queries
- Providing cover for the Finance Manager during absences
- Overseeing payroll operations and signing off on amendments
- Driving process improvements, strengthening controls, and enhancing systems for efficiency and scalability
- Managing corporate responsibility and governance (DEI, GDPR, fraud, anti-bribery, ECOVaders accreditation)
- Liaising with IT providers on finance-related systems projects
What you will need:- Previous experience in a similar role (Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar) within an SME environment
- Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and get hands-on when needed
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
- Experience with Sage 50 and advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUPs, pivots)
- A track record of mentoring and developing finance teams
- Qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
