Job Description

We are looking for a Project Supervisor with strong leadership abilities and possess the experience to work alone as well as lead a team of installers. Our client delivers advanced energy-efficiency solutions to help clients conserve energy and significantly reduce their operating costs. Our service expertise and broad selection of innovative lighting efficiency products help companies lower operating costs, reduce their carbon footprint, provide a more productive workplace and increase their property value.

Our Project Supervisors perform the following functions; in their effort to improve MEI’s job and construction process by thorough and proactive planning and coordination, supporting team members in the field, all aspects of lighting service including:

Support the operations team with the development, planning and implementation of projects including:

  • Perform pre-installation Job Walks as requested to become familiar with the Scope of Work on Projects.
  • Handle site inspections with Utilities or City/County personnel as needed as well as involvement in permitting process if required.
  • Assist sales and operations teams with bidding of projects that involved non-routine installation or controls.
  • Verify material, manpower and equipment requirements for projects.
  • Perform test installations as deemed necessary including photographs and feedback regarding the solution requirements.

Perform electrical/installation work and provide direction and site supervision to installation team including:

  • Obtain an understanding of project scope of work from construction manager including any available plans or documents.
  • Verify fixture counts, material requirements, and develop installation plan for project and communicate the plan to all field personnel.
  • Field installation of project scope ensuring all work is performed according to the appropriate NEC code and is completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular and timely information to the operations team regarding project progress, installation challenges, manpower requirements, calling off of equipment, and potential changes in Scope of Work (i.e. Change Orders).
  • Close out projects via Installation Verification Form (IVF), Punch List walks, city inspections, and any final installation of materials as required.

Responsible for all aspects of lighting service including lamp and ballast replacement, troubleshoot lighting and lighting control circuits, tracing underground lighting circuits, and cleaning lenses.

  • Install, replace, or repair light fixtures and ballast including electrical work as needed.
  • Must be able to perform lighting retrofits.
  • Must be comfortable with tools of the trade including operating scissor and boom lifts.
  • Provide clean and legible log of hours and materials used for all projects.
  • Must maintain active driver's license with clean record.
  • Resolve all issues at the jobsite level notifying supervisors of unresolvable problems.
  • Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize jobsite procedures.
  • Must be able to perform job tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must adhere to MEI company safety policy and rules and regulations of MEI customers

  • Must be willing to travel (anticipate and expect travel nationally).
  • Must adhere to MEI company safety policy as well as rules and regulations of MEI customers.
  • Must be comfortable with tools of the trade including operating scissor and boom lifts.
  • Perform Ad hoc duties as needed.
  • Provide clean and legible log of hours and materials used for all projects.
  • Pass employee background screening and drug testing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move/lift 50 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to withstand varying temperatures typical in an outdoor environment.
  • Position spends majority of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing.
  • Position may require climbing of ladders and/or working from heights.

Prior experience in electrical, lighting, or LED retrofits highly valued.
