Metabolic Services Ltd t/a London Diabetes Centre Birmingham Position: Lead Senior Nurse London Diabetes Centre Birmingham London Medical is a private specialist health clinic providing premium care across a range of clinical services, but in particular Diabetes, Obesity, Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Endocrinology. It is one of the largest private clinics in the UK and has attracted many of the UK’s most renowned Consultants to run their private services from its location in the Harley Street Medical Area. It also operates The London Diabetes Centre which is the leading private Diabetes centre in the UK. It was founded by Dr. Ralph Abraham 25 years ago. Dr Abraham is widely regarded as one of the UKs leading practitioners in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the forefront of new medicines and technology. Currently there are 75 Consultants with 30 different specialties. London Medical has experienced rapid growth over the last few years. Recently it appointed Tony Graff as CEO. Exciting Opportunity As part of the expansion strategy of London Diabetes Centre, a sub-brand of London Medical, London Diabetes Centre Birmingham will be opening in 2020. This new centre will specialise in the full range of diabetes care, endocrinology and cardiology. To support these services and patient and to expand other clinical services, a retail and wholesale pharmacy will be located at the Birmingham clinic, in Edgbaston. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable and motivated individual to join this dynamic organisation as it goes through a period of dramatic growth and transformation. • The post holder is responsible for delivering senior nurse outpatient services and tests under the direction of the clinic’s Consultants and within the policies and procedures of the clinic. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Working within the consultant led policies and protocols of London Diabetes Birmingham to provide specialist nursing services and a range of related medical services and tests to patients attending the clinic.
• To provide the role of senior RN, to be accountable for and to represent the company’s interests by developing, providing and delivering professional, effective evidence and research based clinical nursing care to the highest standard.
• Support the clinic. consultants and the clinical management team to ensure that it meets the requirements and standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and that the NMC Code of Conduct
• To enhance the prestigious reputation of London Medical in Birmingham and to promote its services and facilities at all times. General Business Responsibilities
• To remain familiar with, and adhere to, Policies and Procedures, particularly those relating to Health and Safety, CQC, ever mindful on the precautions for personal safety of self, colleagues and members of the public in the House.
