We need enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of fantastic secondary schools in the Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) area. This is a brilliant opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education, seriously boost your classroom skills, and make a real difference to young people's day-to-day learning.

What The Role Involves

As a Cover Supervisor, you are crucial in keeping the learning on track when the usual teacher is absent. Your main goal is to maintain a positive, purposeful classroom atmosphere.

You will be responsible for:

Delivering and supervising pre-prepared lessons for students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
Managing classroom behaviour effectively and positively, following school policies.
Ensuring a calm, focused, and positive environment for all students.
Taking the register and strictly following all school safeguarding procedures.
Motivating students with their work and encouraging everyone to participate.
Is This You?

We are looking for people who are:

Experienced working with young people (any setting, but school experience is a plus!).
Excellent at communicating and have strong behaviour management skills.
Committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom.
Willing to travel across different schools in RCT (driving is helpful, but not essential).
Bonus: If you have an understanding of the secondary curriculum, that's great, but don't worry if not!
Essential Requirements (We can help you get these!)

We require the following before you start, but we can guide you through the process if you don't have them yet:

An Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service.
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
Two professional references covering the last two years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
