SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Newham

Long Term Futures are working with a well-established and high-performing secondary school in Newham to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs across KS3 and KS4
* Help students manage emotional regulation and re-engage with learning
* Support lesson delivery and classroom inclusion across various subjects
* Work closely with the SEN and pastoral teams to implement and review personalised support plans
* De-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour techniques and trauma-informed approaches
* Support with transition times, break/lunch cover, and school events where needed

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting secondary students with SEMH or behavioural needs
* A calm, consistent and compassionate approach to behaviour support
* Ability to build strong relationships with students who may be disengaged or vulnerable
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Additional qualifications in mental health, behaviour, or safeguarding are highly desirable
