PROJECT ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR
Electrical Contractor - Oxford
Salary: £55,000-£60,000 + Benefits

An established and respected electrical contractor based in Oxford is seeking a skilled Project Engineer / Estimator to join our growing team. This is a key position offering long-term stability, excellent career development, and the opportunity to take ownership of varied commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit competitive tenders and quotations for works ranging from small refurbishments to £1m+

*

Interpret technical drawings and specifications, carrying out accurate material take-offs and procurement

*

Lead projects from tender through to final account, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction

*

Utilise IT software for estimating, project planning, and reporting (Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint)

*

Liaise with clients, principal contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure best-value solutions

*

Attend design and progress meetings; prepare RFIs, method statements, and risk assessments

*

Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, consultants, and end-user clients

*

Manage multiple projects including new builds, refurbishments, and small works packages

*

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, legislation, and quality standards

About You

*

Time-served electrician with strong technical and practical knowledge

*

Proven experience in estimating and project management within an electrical contracting environment

*

Commercially aware with experience working under various contract forms

*

Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities

*

Able to work independently and collaboratively across project teams

*

Valid UK Driving Licence essential

*

NICEIC Qualifying Manager status or C&G 2391 desirable but not essential
