We are currently seeking a customer-focused Hosted VoIP Tier I Technician to join our growing business. The VR3 Cloud VoIP Tier I Technician is responsible for providing installations, service, moves, additions, and/or changes of hosted telecommunications services and components at our client sites in a safe and timely manner in accordance with the scope of work and industry best practice. This role provides candidates with the opportunity to work on multiple projects for a variety of VR³Cloud clients. A successful candidate will be a self-starting, organized, great communicator with a go-getter attitude and strong ethics. Some travel will be required.
Install cloud based Unified Communication solution.
Program telephone sets.
Basic call routing changes.
Properly document process, issues, and resolutions.
Troubleshoot independently (determine source of problem and document resolution).
Some travel required.
Help Desk Coverage
After Hours On-Call Coverage
Basic Networking Skills
Know and understand basic networking fundamentals (i.e. IP Addressing, subnet masks and default gateways).
Know and understand layer 2 principles & connectivity i.e. DHCP, Routing, VLANs etc.
Able to identify and define purpose and function of LAN/WAN hardware.
Good understanding of SIP protocol.
Basic Documentation Skills
Be able to document and share experiences and lessons learned.
Be a contributor to team collaboration sites.
Create basic instructions/end user guides for end user information portals.
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to provide troubleshooting services on telephones.
Ability to replace telephones.
Coordinate troubleshooting efforts and act as focal point for problem resolution involving service interruptions.
Isolate to carrier problems and refer for resolution.
Required Education and Experience
Education: High school degree.
Minimum of two years’ experience in telecom.
SIP protocol experience required.
VOIP experience required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate with non-technical customers on technical issues to achieve desired results.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Microsoft Office suite experience.
Help desk experience preferred.
