Alternative Homes for Youth, a residential mental health treatment center for adolescent males ages 14-21 in Greeley Colorado, has an immediate opening for a full time Behavioral Health Technician, known internally as a Youth Advisor.
The ideal candidate for the Youth Advisor position has: The ability to utilize principles of behaviorism effectively, compassion and understanding for oppositional or deviant behavior, confidence and leadership abilities, healthy personal boundaries, high integrity, high dependability, and a strong work ethic.
We are seeking a full time candidate to work the following schedule:
Wednesday: 12p - 3p
Friday: 11:30a - 12p
Saturday: 10:30a - 10:30p
(35.5 regular hours)
This full time position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including: Paid time off, Medical, Dental and Life insurance. Starting Pay ranges from $12.50-$15.00 / hour and is commensurate with experience. Candidates accepting an offer of employment are expected to maintain a one year commitment to working with AHFY. FUNCTION: Responsible to the Program Director for the day-to-day supervision of clientele and to promote a therapeutic-based milieu that meets CDHS standards for offense specific or conduct disordered youth. Ensure the youth are provided a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment to enhance intrapersonal change.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in psychology, criminal justice, or closely related field, or four years work-related field experience, or a combination of accredited college or university education and work-related field experience totaling or exceeding four years.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws including licensing rules and regulations regarding child welfare, mental health services, alcohol and drug abuse, etc.-Responsible for making sure there is proper supervision of the youth.-Enforce program rules and consequences based on program procedures, individual treatment plan and individual education program.-Execute appropriate procedures regarding medication administration and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.-Responsible for providing a therapeutic milieu that promotes growth, empowerment and healing.-Attend weekly staff meetings and communicate pertinent information to Program Director -Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

AHFY's primary clients have always been at-risk adolescents, while simultaneously providing support and treatment to their families.
