Contract: Full-time, Fixed-term (1 Year - Maternity Cover)

A well-regarded and welcoming primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to take on a Year 2 class from December 2025. This position is a one-year maternity cover, with strong potential for extension or a permanent role thereafter.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT looking to complete their induction year in a supportive environment where staff well-being, development, and collaboration are highly valued.

The Role

Teaching a Year 2 class within a well-structured and supportive KS1 team.

*

Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.

*

Tracking pupil progress, maintaining accurate records, and delivering high standards of teaching and learning.

*

Working closely with colleagues, SLT, and parents to ensure children reach their full potential.

*

Fully participating in school life, contributing to the positive ethos and community spirit.

Requirements

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.

*

Ideally some experience in Key Stage 1, whether through placements or prior roles.

*

A clear understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.

*

Strong classroom management, organisation, and communication skills.

*

A positive, reflective approach and commitment to professional growth.

*

A valid enhanced DBS (on the update service or willingness to apply).
