We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Komatsu Field Service Specialist / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic. This role is critical to supporting our operations through expert troubleshooting, component rebuilding, and hands-on service work across a wide range of Komatsu machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field service, technical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of Komatsu earthmoving equipment, with a focus on:
    • Excavators: PC8000, 7000, 4000, 3000, 2000, 1250
    • Loaders: WA600, WA800 / CAT 993K, 994K
    • Dozers: D275, D375, D475 / CAT D10, D11
    • Graders: GD825 / CAT 16M, 24M
    • Dump Trucks: HD785-7, HM400-3R / Electric: 860, 930, 960
  • Support and maintain Komatsu PC8000-6 Electric Shovels and related models, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
  • Strip, dismantle, and rebuild heavy earthmoving equipment on-site and at the workshop.
  • Rebuild mechanical components and ensure their operational reliability.
  • Assist in the development and building of warehouses, properties, and a dedicated rebuild centre.
  • Deliver top-tier customer service by addressing technical issues promptly and professionally.
  • Work independently and in teams to resolve technical challenges in field and workshop conditions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of diagnostics, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Follow all safety, health, and environmental regulations during operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the mining or heavy equipment industry, with a focus on Komatsu machinery.
  • Strong experience with field service and technical support, especially for Komatsu shovels and earthmoving machines.
  • Proven background as a component rebuilder and equipment mechanic.
  • Solid experience in stripping, dismantling, and preparing heavy equipment components.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging environments while maintaining a high standard of safety and service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant technical degree, trade qualification, or certification in heavy equipment mechanics or field service.
  • Willingness to relocate long-term to Zambia (family relocation supported).
