Stuart House Dementia Care Home is a small, specialist service in Weston-super-Mare, set within a characterful Victorian terrace close to the seafront. Supporting up to 19 residents, the home provides high quality residential, respite and palliative dementia care within a calm, homely and person centred environment designed to promote comfort, familiarity and dignity.
Care Assistant
- £12.71 per hour
- 32.5 hours per week (rotating schedule: Week 1 - Mon 8am to 8pm, Wed 8am to 8pm, Fri 2pm to 8pm, Sat 8am to 2pm; Week 2 - Mon 8am to 2pm, Wed 2pm to 8pm, Fri 8am to 8pm, Sun 8am to 2pm)
- Paid breaks
- Pension, onsite parking, paid DBS, uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will support residents with their daily routines, ensuring care is delivered in a safe, consistent and person centred way within a small and homely environment. Your role will focus on promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times.
You will assist with personal care, mobility, meals and daily activities, following individual care plans and responding appropriately to any changes in residents' needs. You will support individuals living with dementia, providing reassurance, structure and a calm approach to care.
Working closely with the wider team, you will help maintain a positive and supportive environment across the home. Your role will have a direct impact on residents' comfort, confidence and overall quality of life.
What We Are Looking For
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is preferred but not essential
- Previous care experience is beneficial, though not essential and applications are welcomed from both new and experienced candidates
- A kind, patient and compassionate approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A reliable and professional attitude
