Salary: £55000 - £75000/annum

Work strategically with a major Irish developer that is actively expanding its offshore wind portfolio across Ireland and the UK. This organisation plays a central role in the energy transition, with a strategic goal to achieve net zero by 2040.

As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consenting Specialist with UK and/or Scottish consenting experience to support the delivery of key offshore wind projects in line with national and international decarbonisation targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive the delivery of offshore wind project milestones by coordinating and supporting environmental consenting tasks across the UK jurisdiction.

Oversee development and assessment of project-specific consenting activities, including tender preparation, environmental impact assessment reporting (EIAR), and environmental surveys.

Prepare and/or review technical scopes of work for consenting activities and provide cross-disciplinary support as required.

Manage the procurement of environmental consultancy services and ensure quality control of all deliverables.

Identify key project risks related to consenting and advise multi-disciplinary teams on mitigation strategies.

Collaborate effectively with other project packages to ensure alignment with the overall consenting strategy.

Lead internal and external stakeholder engagement, including public consultation activities.

Stay current with regulatory frameworks, statutory processes, and best practices in the UK offshore wind space.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental impact assessment and statutory consenting processes within the UK, with at least 3 years specific to offshore wind.

Deep knowledge of offshore wind consenting processes in the UK, including EIARs, HRA, marine licensing, and other statutory applications.

Proven experience in managing environmental consultants and multi-disciplinary teams.

Strong understanding of HSE legislation and its application within the offshore energy sector.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Full, clean driving licence and flexibility for occasional travel.

Desirable:

Experience in marine development consenting and associated UK/Scottish regulatory processes.

Exposure to onshore consent applications and readiness to rotate into onshore workstreams if required.

Experience in preparing other consent-related documentation and supporting surveys.

Awareness of EU and UK public procurement rules.

Educational Requirements

Essential:

Level 8 Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Level 9 / Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

Chartered status with a recognised professional body.

Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
