Gap healthcare are happy to be supporting one of clients who are seeking Deputy Managers to join their teams in Peterborough

As a Deputy Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operations. You will lead and support your team to deliver high standards of support to children and young people within the home.

Key Duties:

Lead and support a team of residential care staff, ensuring safe and consistent care practices at all times
Assist the Registered Manager with daily operations and overall care delivery
Oversee the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
Coordinate and delegate tasks effectively during shifts
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and domestic routines in the home
Participate in and encourage team engagement in recreational activities with young people (e.g. swimming, walking, games)
Attend and contribute to meetings, reviews, and staff supervision
Administer medication and ensure accurate documentation
Undertake sleep-in duties as required
Lead by example, promoting professionalism and positive role modelling
Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain strong, appropriate relationships with young people
Foster ongoing communication and cooperation with families and external professionals (e.g. social workers, therapists)
Take a proactive role in policy development, service improvement, and team performance
Support key workers and take on key working responsibilities where appropriate
Respond calmly and safely to challenging behaviour, including physical interventions when necessary
Ensure high standards of documentation, care planning, and safeguarding at all times
Support team development and training through mentoring and supervision
