Teaching Personnel are seeking Supply Teachers to start in January for schools in the Newport and surrounding areas.
Due to Covid we are currently experiencing a huge demand for supply teachers to help cover staff absences in Secondary schools.
Responsibilities of a Supply Teacher:
You will be responsible for teaching planned work to classes of between 25 and 35 Secondary aged pupils. Teaching Personnel will always strive to get you supply work in your specialist subject, but the nature of supply is that you will be required to provide general cover at times where needed. All lessons are planned and prepared by class teachers and you are then responsible for the delivery of work, ensuring all pupils are kept on task and that all classroom behaviour is appropriate.
Working as a supply teacher, you can work as little as 1 day a week and can also secure longer term work if you wish which can continue for a full academic year.
To work as a supply teacher you must have Qualified Teacher Status and UK classroom experience.
You will also need to have an enhanced DBS check and be EWC registered - Teaching Personnel can help you apply for these if necessary.
What you'll get in return In return
Teaching Personnel is a Welsh Government Approved Framework Agency and so you will receive the framework pay rate: £138.56 a day
You will have an attractive work life balance as won't be required to complete work outside the classroom and you can also change your availability from week to week.
You will be fully supported by your own personal education recruitment consultant.
If you are seeking flexible teaching work and would like to know more about supply teaching, please apply with your CV.
