We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Year 9 class within a specialist provision in Richmond. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people who require additional support with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will support students who experience SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. These pupils may face challenges with emotional regulation, behaviour, confidence, and engagement with learning. Your role will involve providing consistent support, building positive relationships, and helping students develop strategies to manage their emotions and succeed in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-class and small group support for Year 9 students with SEMH needs.

*

Work alongside the teacher to support engagement with lessons and learning activities.

*

Help students develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies.

*

Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote trust and stability.

*

Support the creation of a structured and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements:

*

A Child and Adult DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

*

Experience or knowledge of working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable.

*

A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people.

*

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
