We're recruiting an exciting new position as CCTV Infrastructure Engineer, based from our St Helens Operation Centre, with a requirement to travel to our other Centres in the North of the country.
In this role you will be a member of the IT Infrastructure team reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, liaising with both the UK and US Tech teams along with external CCTV providers.
You will be responsible for the planning, installation, support and maintenance of all areas of our CCTV, Access Control, and other Security Systems equipment across a number of sites located across the UK and Ireland.
You may be required to provide 'out of hours' support to ensure that CCTV and the security of our sites is maintained.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining CCTV-based security and fire detection system
- Configuring and supporting Windows Server environments (including Server 2022) and virtualization platforms like VMWare
- Installing and maintaining wired and wireless networks, including Point-to-Point systems and structured cabling (Cat 5/6)
- Travelling regularly to various sites (a company van is provided)
- Have excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical colleagues.
What we need from you:
Essential
- Previous experience in CCTV installation, commissioning and maintenance
- Security and cost-conscious CCTV design
- Experienced in the installation and configuration of wireless Point-to-Point (PtP) network systems, as well as structured cabling solutions including Cat 5 and Cat 6 for data and security infrastructure.
- Proficient in Windows Server 2022, VMWare and other virtualization platforms
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and work away from home on a regular basis, with flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently
- Knowledgeable in workplace health and safety standards
- Ability to adapt and learn new skills
- Strong Team Player who can work independently and is self-motivated
Desirable
- Experience of Milestone CCTV systems
- Fully trained and certified to work safely at heights IPAF, PASMA.
- Experience of installing network switches and wireless Access Points
- Knowledge of Dahua, Hikvision and other CCTV manufacturers
- Experienced in coordinating with CCTV monitoring centres to maintain surveillance integrity and respond to incidents
