Job Title: Commercial Gas Engineer
Location: Birmingham (Mobile Role - Across Midlands & Secure Sites)
Salary: £43,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE) + Structured Overtime

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer for a permanent mobile role working across secure sites, including multiple UK prisons. This is a key role within a well-established Facilities Management team, offering long-term stability and excellent earning potential.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Operations and will carry out maintenance, servicing, and fault-finding tasks on commercial gas and oil-fired heating and ventilation systems within secure, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Service, maintenance, and repair of commercial gas and oil-fired heating systems

*

Working on secure sites, including prisons, adhering to all security protocols

*

Use of CAFM systems to log tasks and update progress

*

Compliance with relevant Health & Safety and statutory regulations

*

Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota

*

Supporting the wider M&E team when required

Requirements

Essential:

*

Valid Commercial Gas Safe qualifications (in date)

*

Proven experience working on commercial heating and ventilation systems

*

Comfortable working in prison environments

*

Full UK driving licence

*

Familiarity with tablet-based CAFM systems

*

Must be eligible for or hold CTC clearance

Desirable:

*

OFTEC certification

*

Electrical or general M&E knowledge
