The School and Role

ABC Teachers are seeking a nurturing, creative and adaptable Teacher to join Mary Elliot Academy, a highly regarded specialist SEND school in Walsall supporting young people aged 11-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This role is for a small SLD & ASC class group, where you will deliver an adapted, personalised curriculum that supports communication, sensory needs, emotional regulation and independence skills.

As a Teacher, you will work alongside a skilled team of Teaching Assistants, therapists and specialist staff to create a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment where each learner is supported to reach their full potential.

The Ideal Teacher Will Have:

QTS / QTLS (ECTs considered)

Experience of teaching students with SLD and/or ASC (preferred)

The ability to plan creative, differentiated lessons

A calm, patient, trauma-informed approach

Strong teamwork and communication skills

A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Full training and SEND induction can be offered for teachers new to specialist environments.
