The Opportunity We are seeking a creative and practical Teacher of Design & Technology (D&T) to join a well-resourced department at a thriving secondary school in the London Borough of Ealing. This is a superb opportunity for an educator passionate about design, innovation, and practical skills, keen to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers.
The Role You will teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3, 4 (GCSE), and potentially Key Stage 5 (A-Level, specialising in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Textiles, or Food Technology, depending on your expertise and departmental needs). Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical proficiency. You will manage workshop safety and contribute to the maintenance and development of resources.
About Our School Our school in Ealing has excellent D&T facilities, including modern workshops, computer-aided design (CAD) suites, and specialist equipment. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will hold QTS and a strong degree in Design & Technology or a related field (e.g., Product Design, Engineering, Textiles, Food Technology). You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality D&T lessons and the ability to inspire students in design and making. Strong practical skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a commitment to fostering a safe and creative workshop environment are essential.
