Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Job Purpose:

The Facilities and Maintenance Technician will report to the HSEF Manager and will be responsible for overseeing building and equipment maintenance within a production/manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out routine and reactive maintenance across the site, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fabric repairs.

* Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

* Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

* Liaise with contractors and service providers to coordinate specialist repairs and compliance inspections.

* Ensure that facilities are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.

* Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory of tools and supplies.

* Monitor building systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting) and report faults or inefficiencies.

* Support health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, fire alarm testing, and emergency procedures.

* Provide support during out-of-hours emergencies or planned maintenance as needed

* Be the Appointed Person for Legionella Control.

Knowledge

* Good working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.

* Strong understanding of UK health and safety standards and practices.

Education

* Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical, Plumbing, or Building Services.

* Experience in facilities management systems.

* FLT licence.

Skills and competencies required

* Proven experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role.

* Ability to diagnose faults and carry out basic repairs effectively

* Full UK driving

* Good communication and teamwork skills. licence.

* Experience in facilities management systems.

* Experience of RAMS and managing contractors onsite
