Our client is a UK top-100 commercial law firm with offices in London, Oxford, Cardiff and Hong Kong. The Department:
The IT Department has a relaxed, sociable, working atmosphere whilst providing a high level of support to its users.

The Systems:
NetDocuments document management system with Office 365 applications running on Windows 10 laptops, Thomson Elite/Intapp Time practice management system. Full VOIP installation and unified messaging, Interaction, Mimecast, Big Hand digital dictation and Fresh Service Helpdesk software for logging all calls. Our client run an outsourced datacentre in a Virtual/SAN environment. They use VPN connections on the laptops for mobile working and Citrix for remote access, OWA iOS and Android mobile phones secured through Intune.

Responsibilities:
The position is within a small IT team where there will be a need to collaborate with other team members and suppliers.
As an Application Analyst, you are responsible for:
•Preparing and delivering a roadmap for software updates and upgrades
•Implementing, testing and integrating applications
•Testing and performing routine system upgrades
•Providing instructions and updates to staff when necessary including creation of documentation to assist IT colleagues in supporting application they may be unfamiliar with
•Resolving technical issues escalating to third parties if required
•Analysing error trends aimed at reducing or minimising down time
•Communicating messages regarding systems issues and changes to users promptly
•Liaising with software suppliers to fulfil the requirements of the organisation
•Scheduling and running regular tests to enhance the current systems and applications
•Identifying and developing functionality changes
•Maintaining documentation of key databases and linked applications
•Understanding and translating business and technical requirements in order to ensure the technology meets the changing requirements of the firm
•Being the subject matter expert for several business applications

Essential Skills:
•Excellent proven skills in Microsoft Office, Windows 10, Office 365, SCCM technology, application configuration and software packaging
•Excellent time management and roadmap management skills
•Ability to produce reports, stats and metrics from databases and solutions
•Ability to troubleshoot common hardware/software issues
•Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
•Ability to juggle multiple projects
•Ability to quickly gain new skills and knowledge when faced with new challenges
•Attention to detail is key in this role for the smooth running of the service
•Ability to work on own and to set and manage deadlines - project management skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Open to asking questions and obtaining information in order to deliver the responsibilities of the role
•Willing to work out of hours when required and at short notice
•Knowledge of NetDocuments
•Knowledge of Elite and INTAPP solutions are advantageous
•Knowledge of other legal applications

Experience:
•Preferably 5 years' experience on helpdesk, service desk, application support or similar with proven experience of the application lifecycle
•Working as part of a team to assist in delivering the IT service as well as liaising with internal staff and external suppliers
