We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Burscough. This role offers the opportunity to work either in Upper Key Stage 1 (KS1) or across Key Stage 2 (KS2), providing support to create a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of daily activities, ensuring they meet the educational needs of the children.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to enhance the learning experience, providing support in the classroom to individual pupils or small groups.
  • Help manage classroom resources and setup for activities.
  • Support the teacher in monitoring the progress of students and report back on their achievements and challenges.
  • Engage with children to foster their enthusiasm for learning and help maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with the development of social skills and classroom behaviour, using appropriate strategies to promote positive interactions.
  • Participate in school meetings and training sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs of children in either Upper KS1 or KS2.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs within the school environment.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s learning.
