The Opportunity

CDL Personnel is currently partnering with a well-established and expanding logistics and warehousing business in Stowmarket, Suffolk to recruit an experienced Transport Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced transport operation that specialises in container transport, LCL shipments and general warehousing services.

Our client is seeking a motivated and organised individual who thrives in a dynamic logistics environment and enjoys being at the centre of daily transport operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that transport movements, deliveries and collections run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinating and monitoring daily deliveries and collections to ensure high levels of accuracy and service.

Inputting transport bookings and operational data into the TOPS transport management system.

Handling incoming phone calls and email enquiries from customers, drivers and partners in a professional and efficient manner.

Managing and liaising with sub-contractors and third-party transport providers.

Maintaining accurate records within operational software systems.

Supporting customer account management, ensuring strong service relationships are maintained.

Assisting with general transport planning and operational administration.

Undertaking additional operational duties as required to support the wider logistics team.

Supporting out-of-hours operations when required as part of the role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

A minimum of 2 years' experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.

Strong UK geographical knowledge to assist with route planning and coordination.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

A high level of attention to detail and organisational ability.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills within a fast-paced environment.

The ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

A driven, motivated and proactive attitude with a desire to succeed.
